NASA Langley

Nasa Langley
The place where “What if...” is
destined to become what will be

Identity
 Writing
OverviewLangley needed to stop being known only as the place Neil Armstrong trained and start being known for what it's actually doing now. The work was to build a story about the present that could carry all that history forward instead of living buried underneath it.
ResearchWonder, backed by the people who can build the answer. Restricted-access research, engineer interviews, and Carl Sagan tapes all pointed to the same idea: asking "what if" only becomes engineering once someone knows how to build the answer. That's the throughline that connects Langley's history to its future — commercial flight, heart health research, eventually Mars. Wonder isn't the opposite of rigor at Langley. It's where the rigor starts.

Brand AnthemAn anthem, not an update. Rather than positioning the work as a status report on current programs, the film and tagline were built to hang on every banner on campus — a statement of identity, not a press release. The goal was language confident enough to hold both a legacy and a launchpad at once.
THE SCRIPT
At NASA Langley , what if? isn’t just a question—it’s a challenge.

It’s where wondering, what if we knew what’s in the air we breathe? Becomes a cleaner planet for the next generation.

Where wondering, what if we could make travel faster?
Becomes a future where friends and family are never that far away.

And where wondering, what if we could explore deep space?
Becomes the key to unlocking our universe’s greatest mysteries.

The future starts with a question.
You just have to be bold enough to ask.

At Langley Research Center, we put our curiosity and wonder to work, creating a better tomorrow simply because we dare to imagine it.

NASA LANGLEY RESEARCH CENTER
Our wonder changes the world.
